The work is still on show at the moment so do recommend heading on down to Forest Hill for a nice coffee, perhaps on the way to the interesting and odd Horniman Museum!

“Peirce’s linocut work shows derelict high rises and ominous skies in luminous colours, starkly contrasted by the skeletal silhouettes of black trees and branches. The paintings are highly textured, a result of the artist’s use of a palette knife to apply paint. They show washed-out buildings with seemingly melting edges. Beautiful, yet toxic-looking, both linocuts and paintings almost ooze radioactivity.”

St. David is within view when you come out of Forest Hill Station, across the road and up a little pedestrian slope and next to a Thai restaurant. You can get there on the overground, or trains from London Bridge or Victoria.

I will have work on show at my studio this weekend as part of Bow Arts Trust’s annual open studios event.

The largest and longest running open studios event in London. Come and see what’s going on at our Bow Road site; with over 130 artists welcoming you into their studios to see their work, it’s an opportunity for members of the public, curators and collectors to see a huge range of original art.

This year’s Bow Arts Trust Open Studios event is coming up soon (June 29th and 30th) and I will have a new type of work to show. I have been exploring linocut printing this year, my first foray into printmaking, and am really enjoying both the process and some of the kinds of results you can get. As opposed to painting you can keep playing around with the final result after it is finished, with colours and application of inks. And as opposed to digital prints it is also still a physical process, and I find the oil based inks I am using leave aesthetically pleasing textured layers. It is also a lot of work doing all the pressing by hand so I might have to invest in a press at some point. I will put some of the results up to show soon!

I will be exhibiting with The Magma Group at The Other Art Fair next week as we were happily selected by a panel including Edward Lucie-Smith, Francesca Gavin, Ian Rosenfeld and James Hopkins.

Bob & Roberta Smith (artist) and Skye Sherwin (arts writer, The Guardian) have announced their selection of artists for this year’s renowned Bow Arts Open Show to be held at the Bermondsey Project Space.
